The Smith School of Business is an industry leader in partnering with students to support their career growth. Smith and Queen’s students have the option of participating in our Smith Sales Career Bootcamp, an engaging series of non-credit sessions with expert speakers from all aspects of sales (e.g. Sales Development, Business Development, Account Executive; Customer Service Management).
Throughout the 6-week program, students will attend live sessions hosted by industry professionals, where speakers will present a mini-case to provide information and insights into the life of a sales professional.
In order to earn the Smith Sales Career Bootcamp badge, each student must complete the following:
1. Attend 80% of the live sessions
2. Participate in and be evaluated during a roleplay Q&A with an industry expert
3. Submit a reflection paper
Skills / Knowledge
- Understand the range of business-to-business sales roles available today for new graduates
- Appreciate how sales roles require a helping mindset and comprehensive communication skills
- Describe the sales skills required to be able to help executives (ranging from prospecting, discovery, demonstration, handling objections, gaining commitment, analytics and enablement
- Demonstrate understanding and communication skills via industry-led role plays
